So the reader knows how everyone feels
3. How do Dave Joyce and Bill Ryder differ?
They have different names.One is a union soldier and the other is a confederate. One chose to kill for revenge and the other one didn't.
4. How is the conflict resolved?
Dave Joyce was the bigger man and forgave him for killing his dad.
5. What does the resolution to the conflict reveal about the character of Dave Joyce?
He is forgiving, strict, survivalist, kind, and compassionate.
6. If Joyce had been the wounded man, how do you think Ryder would have treated him? Support your answer with examples from the story's text.
I couldn't tell you i would have to learn more about him.But i would guess maybe worse and maybe try to kill him from behind like he did to Dave's father. And it is all because he was a coward.
